Logitech ERGO K860 Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2022
The K860 is a great update to the K750. It features a slightly better design with rounded edges and more tactile keys, and is made of a slightly lighter and more flexible plastic. The biggest improvement, though, is that the K860 uses a split keyboard design instead of the older model’s full-body layout. Check out Logitech K400 Plus Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals.
Use Left & Right
The split design means that there is a small gap between the keys that are meant for use with your left and right hands. This is a good thing because it reduces the chances of strain on your wrists and forearms while you type. You might be used to the feeling of the extra pressure caused by the full-body layout of other split keyboards, but the difference is mostly negligible.
The other notable change is that the K860 uses a traditional “chiclet” design rather than the newer “percussive” design. The chiclet keys don’t have to be depressed to register any input, but they do require some force. The difference is noticeable—in fact, I initially mistook the K860 for a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 until I tried it. There are a few other refinements. One is that the keys are angled slightly forward, which makes them easier to hit with your thumbs. And there is a positive tilt that’s designed to keep your wrists and forearms in a more comfortable position.
Rest Your Palm
The only downside of the K860 is that the keyboard is very wide. While this may seem like a problem, it’s actually a feature, since the overall width is smaller than that of a typical laptop keyboard. This makes it easier to use one hand to navigate the keyboard without having to stretch your arm, and it provides the benefit of a larger surface to rest your palms on.
