Lenovo Legion 5 Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals 2021
There are some fantastic things about this laptop. I’m not going to build all that stuff because I’ve already reviewed the intel version of this and the build quality. The ports the size the way it feels are the same. I will say this though the 144-hertz display. They put on this model is fantastic. A couple of AMD models are floating around with 120 hertz, and that display is not that great, but this one is very color accurate. It has good screen brightness, and I’d be comfortable doing design work on this as well as gaming.
I will say this, though, the AMD sticker guy is worse than the intel sticker guy because intel only has three stickers, and the AMD is drinking on the job like he started sober at the Nvidia sticker by the time he got to e-support completely crooked.
You can remove the stickers but look at, AMD sticker; you got some help, man, internally. It’s going to look a bit different compared to the intel version. For example, this nvme drive is smaller gets slower read and write speeds, but it’s still fast enough.
You do have the option to take it out and put a faster one, or you can add a second drive to this. You can either put a 2.5-inch drive or remove this bay and put a nvme drive instead. You have two slots to ram upgradable with 64 gigabytes and a 60-watt hour battery.
This battery is tiny, but I’m getting much better battery life than the Intel equivalent over four hours of use before charging compared to the three hours and 15 minutes on the intel version.
Now performance is the most exciting thing about this laptop. Like, Ryzen 7 4800h is an absolute monster. The gtx 1650 ti max q inside of here is okay for gaming at medium settings, but that’s not the most exciting thing. The most exciting thing is actual work. If you’re a developer and you’re compiling code, this thing is going to scream.
If you’re doing video editing and using adobe premiere pro, this thing is beating out super expensive laptops, basically anything that can utilize the CPU. This thing is just going to thoroughly chew through it even beat out desktop CPUs from previous years. The only time an intel system would be better than this is if you want a more beefier gpu and your main focus is gaming.
If you’re looking at this laptop, you need to know what you’re getting yourself into. It gets hot, but man, the performance is insane, and if you’re buying this to do work first. Whether you’re a video creator, 3d animator, or even a developer and you want to game lightly on the side, then get the AMD model.
Still, if all you care about is gaming and your budget’s a bit higher, I suggest the intel variants because they have the beefier GPUs available. In contrast, the AMD version only tops out at 1660 or 2060. I hope that kind of clears things up for you.
